HHPC Director, Dr. Alwyn Cohall, is featured in the Room for Debate section of the New York Times commenting on what sorts of public health initiatives can promote good eating habits without resulting in discrimination against overweight people. HHPC awarded renewed funding by the CDC for an additional five year period (2009 - 2014) to provide for the implementation and evaluation of an intervention project aimed at improving awareness and self-management of hypertension in Harlem.

GetHealthyHarlem.org is live! GetHealthyHarlem.org is a health information website where Harlem residents, businesses and organizations can find local information about getting and staying healthy. It is the result of years of collaboration between the HHPC, community members, and leaders.
